Brief Psychotic Disorder has a sudden onset of at least 1 psychotic symptom (i.e., delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior). The psychotic symptoms last less than 1 month, and are followed by a full recovery. The psychotic symptoms are not due to Major Depressive or Bipolar Disorder with psychotic features or another psychotic disorder such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder or Catatonia.
